Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardio Thoracic ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour; Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years of CVICU experience required License: RN License required Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: First-timers accepted Weekend coverage required per unit needs Description: This is a critical care unit specializing in open-heart surgeries and advanced cardiovascular support. The team manages advanced modalities including ECMO, ventricular assist devices, and post-operative care. Nurse-to-patient ratios vary based on acuity from 1:1 to 2:1. Nurses are expected to float within the scope of practice to meet facility needs. Supportive education and holistic health are emphasized to improve patient outcomes. Floating between similar units may be required based on unit needs. A variety of interdisciplinary support services are readily available. Patients in this unit may include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Nurses will utilize Epic for charting and documentation. Experience with specific procedures and management techniques is preferred. Candidates should be proficient in the care of ventilated patients and management of invasive lines. Focus on infection prevention and proper utilization of isolation precautions is crucial. Completion of all facility-specific training modules is required within the first week of the assignment.
