Job Opportunity – Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse – Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day/Night rotating or Nights only); 2:1 patient ratio; 72-hour orientation; Rotating shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs
Highlights

- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
- Common diagnoses include ARDS, COPD, sepsis, oncologic emergencies, GI bleed, and drug overdose
- Contract length variable; two pre-approved time-off periods available
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of current acute care experience in MICU or similar specialty (must be actively working in specialty within the last 12 months)
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
- EPIC charting experience required
- Proficiency with ventilator management, IV starts, arterial line management, central line care, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration
- Experience with blood product administration, isolation precautions, ABG interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
- Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference)
- Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
- Must not be a current employee of the health system; former employees eligible after 6 months separation
