Description:
Medical/Surgical ICU.
36 hours per week.
Day/night rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
The usual patient populations include adult complex surgical patients and acutely ill medical patients.
While burn patients are a part of the patient demographic, they currently constitute a minority of cases.
The ICU operates under a closed ICU model where all patients are cared for by the same team.
Advanced practice providers serve as the primary ICU care providers, with support from surgical teams and consultants.
The multispecialty care team model includes responding clinicians supervised by in-house attending staff physicians available 24/7.
Critical care fellows also provide support to the team.
