Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 18 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU required License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Description: Position is for an RN in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. Candidates must be able to work all scheduled shifts. No scheduling requests will be accommodated outside of approved time off. Ratios are 1:2 during the day and 1:3 at night. First-time travelers may be considered with strong experience. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Certification in ACLS and BLS is required. Candidates must pass a tele test. Floating to other ICU units may be necessary. Block scheduling cannot be accommodated. Local candidates are accepted within the specified radius. Pending licenses are not accepted; however, compact licenses are acceptable with requirements. Special requirements include proficiency in telemetry. Required skills include ventilator management, telemetry, and conscious sedation. Preferred skills are IV starts, ICP monitoring, PA line management, and level 1 trauma experience. The patient population consists of 70% medical patients and 30% cardiology patients. Daily census is approximately 15.5. Interdisciplinary support includes various specialized teams. Candidates must demonstrate experience in trauma level I or II. Staffing ratios ensure high-quality patient care with a focus on critical needs. All candidates should disclose any relevant background information when applying. Two supervisory references are required with submissions. Modules may be required for completion prior to start. Compliance with training requirements is necessary for specific positions.
