Experience with equipment such as ventilators and Bipap is essential. Familiarity with EPIC computer charting and Pyxis medication administration is required. The nurse-to-patient ratio in this unit is typically 1:2 or 1:3. Training will include two days on the floor following initial orientation. Mandatory attendance is required for the orientation. Candidates should be prepared to float to other critical care units as needed. A professional dress code is expected, with Caribbean blue scrubs designated for use.
