Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Pending license accepted Certifications: NIHSS, ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Neuro ICU experience required Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Neuro ICU. The average patient ratio is 1:2 for both day and night shifts. First-time travelers are accepted. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Candidates should possess certifications in NIHSS, ACLS, and BLS. Floating within the scope to meet facility needs is expected. No block scheduling accommodations are available. RTO greater than 7 days requires approval. Neuro ICU experience is mandatory for applicants. The unit will support a diverse range of patient needs, including critical neurological conditions. Preferred experience includes trauma Level I and Level II. Candidates must have experience with various critical care skills and procedures. Specialized procedures performed in this unit may include EVD placements, lumbar drains, and intubation. Interdisciplinary support is available from multiple services. The patient demographic includes adults and geriatrics. Experience with specific medical equipment and monitoring may be required. Additional skills such as managing high-output drains and administering emergency medications will be essential. The unit typically sees an average daily census of 17 patients.
