- Weekly Pay:$2,160 to $2,360
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and medically complex patients
- Perform detailed head-to-toe assessments and continuously monitor patients for changes in condition
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation, neurological status, and other critical indicators
- Monitor hemodynamic status and identify subtle changes requiring prompt intervention
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized critical-care plans
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments safely
- Manage central lines, arterial lines, drains, catheters, and other critical-care devices
- Provide care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation and advanced respiratory support
- Monitor continuous medication infusions and titrate therapies according to provider orders and facility protocols
- Recognize early signs of deterioration and initiate appropriate interventions promptly
- Respond to codes, rapid responses, and other clinical emergencies
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with bedside procedures and critical-care interventions
- Provide appropriate pain, sedation, and comfort management
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, procedures, treatment plans, and ongoing care
- Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, CNAs, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Follow infection prevention, medication safety, HIPAA, and patient safety standards
- Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based critical-care initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Nebraska Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/critical-care nursing experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- Current ACLS Certification required
- PALS Certification preferred or required by facility
- Strong knowledge of critical-care nursing principles and advanced patient monitoring
- Experience caring for ventilated, high-acuity, and medically complex patients
- Experience with invasive monitoring, central lines, arterial lines, and complex medication infusions
- Strong understanding of emergency response and critical-care interventions
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Excellent clinical judgment, critical-thinking, and assessment skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Comfortable working day shifts
