Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 3 years in ICU License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Minimum 3 years of ICU experience. - EPIC experience within the last year. - One supervisor reference from the most recent/current assignment. Description: The ICU Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients. The nurse will work with high-acuity mixed medical-surgical and thoracic/cardiovascular patients. Patient types include those experiencing respiratory failure, ARDS, CHF, COPD, post-STEMI, post-arrest, and post-surgical care. The nurse will monitor and administer medications, including titratable drips such as pressors, sedation, and insulin. Nurse-to-patient ratios vary from 1:1 to 1:3 based on patient acuity. All nurses will be responsible for EKG monitoring and interpretation. A dedicated ICU team will be available 24/7 for support. Nurses are expected to draw their own labs and perform EKGs. Support staff will be available around the clock, though not assigned directly to the ICU. Floating may be required, and travelers will be the first to float. This position entails a professional environment with an emphasis on collaboration and support among staff and physicians. Minimum of 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling block may be required. Travelers should be prepared to work holidays as needed based on unit requirements.
