Experience must include either neuro or cardiovascular experience. UNA Dysrhythmia Exam is required prior to acceptance of a position. There is also a pass/fail simulation lab on the first day of orientation. Patients will include trauma, neuro, and specialty surgical cases. Common diagnoses include level 1 trauma, falls, and gunshot wounds. Experience with various titratable and set rate drips is required. RNs must interpret their own telemetry strips. Self-scheduling is allowed, though the manager may need to balance shifts. Weekend requirements include three weekend shifts in a four-week schedule. May be required to float to telemetry with a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio. No additional call or standby shifts will be required. RNs will be expected to float between various units as needed. Cancellation policy allows for up to four shifts to be canceled during the assignment. The charting system utilized is Cerner. Experience with high-acuity patients in an ICU setting is essential. Strong clinical and critical thinking skills are necessary for this role.
