Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 3 years of recent ICU experience, including neuro or cardiovascular experience. License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. Must-Have: RNs must be able to titrate drips. Description: This position requires a full 3 years of recent ICU experience to be considered. Experience must include either neuro or cardiovascular ICU. Dysrhythmia Exam is required within 24-48 hours prior to acceptance. There is also a pass/fail skill validation on Day 1 of orientation. The unit is a Surgical ICU, with a focus on trauma and neurosurgery cases. The bed capacity is 32. The nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:2 or 1:1. RNs are expected to interpret their own telemetry strips as there are no monitor techs. Self-scheduling is allowed, but managers may need to balance shifts for unit needs. The weekend requirement is for 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule. May have 1 holiday off during the assignment. There are no additional call or standby shifts required. Floating to telemetry with a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio may be necessary. Scrub color is navy. Unit-specific orientation will occur over 1-2 days. Expectations include floating between the ICU units as needed. Skills for trauma, neuro, and specialty devices will be validated as required. The facility may cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment based on unit needs.
