Competence in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
Understanding of maintaining a sterile field
Description:
MUST HAVE LEVEL 1 TRAUMA EXPERIENCE.
A 50-mile radius rule applies for applicants.
This is a float pool position requiring the ability to float to various ICU and MedSurg/Tele units.
Travelers should be prepared to function independently when assigned to different areas.
Travelers are expected to float and will not have an option to refuse.
All ICU RNs will be required to complete assessments for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
Nurses must understand sterile techniques and maintain a sterile field.
Strong competencies are necessary as these skills are frequently used.
The ICU Float Cluster includes areas with a 1:2 patient ratio, managing medical, surgical, and trauma patients, as well as those requiring advanced respiratory support.
Weekends are required and consist of 4 weekend shifts every 4 weeks; holidays will be based on unit demands.
Shifts will be scheduled four weeks in advance and can be modified based on hospital needs up to two weeks prior.
Critical drips and comprehensive respiratory support are part of the job duties.
All reports are completed at the bedside, and a thorough skin assessment is to be conducted within the first four hours of each shift.
The facility has a cancellation policy that allows for cancellations up to four shifts during the assignment duration.
