Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required; CPI and MAB preferred Must-Have: - Minimum patient ratio experience of 1:2-3 - Previous ICU experience preferred for first-timers - Weekend requirements include every third weekend Description: Registered Nurse needed for the ICU unit. The average daily census is 4 patients. The unit consists of 6 rooms/beds. Clinicians will float within scope to meet facility needs if required. No on-call requirement for the position. The patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, stroke, DKA, AKI, SBO, detox, sepsis, and respiratory failure. Special procedures include rapid sequence intubation. Special equipment used in the unit includes Spacelabs, ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow oxygen. Support staff includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. The position will require skills in managing arterial lines, assisting with chest tube insertion/removal, blood product administration, and caring for ventilated patients. Additional skills include central line care/management, interpretation of arterial blood gases, and managing patients with multi-system organ dysfunction/failure.
