Description

ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active state RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: Accepts first-time travelers Self-scheduling available Weekend requirements: every other weekend Description: ICU RN Days (3x12). Self-scheduling is available. The position requires two years of experience. The patient care ratio is 1:2. Daily census is approximately 8 patients. Patients will range from adults to geriatrics. Common diagnoses include DKA, COPD, acute respiratory failure, cholecystitis, pneumonia, sepsis, cardiac arrest, hypertensive emergencies, ischemic stroke, and ETOH withdrawal. Special procedures involve managing ventilated patients, administering blood products, and handling central line care. Equipment utilized includes bedside monitors and defibrillators. Unit staff will engage with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Floating may be required within the specialty. Holidays are required as scheduled. The ability to perform various critical care skills is essential, including but not limited to titrating cardiac drips and managing IV sedation.
