Description:
The position is for an IMC Registered Nurse working night shifts.
The contract duration is eight weeks.
The nurse will work three 12-hour shifts each week from 20:00 to 08:30.
Floating to the ICU may be required as needed.
The nurse will care for adult and geriatric patients.
The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:3, potentially increasing with lower acuity overflow.
Every other weekend is required, along with holiday coverage as scheduled.
The unit supports an interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more.
Patient diagnoses include respiratory failure, multisystem organ failure, post-cardiac catheterization, and more.
Common procedures performed in the unit include chest tube insertions, bronchoscopy, and rapid sequence intubation.
Candidates must be comfortable floating within their specialty and lower acuity as needed.
The working environment requires managing complex patient care and utilizing advanced care skills.
Compliance with necessary certifications and licensing is necessary prior to starting.
