ICU/IMC Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour; Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Must have an active nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: ICU and IMC experience, completed at least 1 travel assignment Description: The Registered Nurse will work in both ICU and Intermediate Care Units. The candidate must successfully pass the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms. Every other weekend is required, with a total of six weekend shifts in a six-week period. This role involves floating to Medical-Surgical and Emergency Departments as needed. The Registered Nurse is expected to manage the care of patients with complex medical issues, including cardiac, neuro, and respiratory diagnoses. The candidate should possess skills in accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, and care of ventilated patients, among others. The daily census in the unit averages around 9 patients with a patient ratio of 4 on the day and night shifts. Interdisciplinary support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. The candidate will work collaboratively with a team to provide comprehensive care, ensuring adherence to protocols and best practices. There are no exemptions for required vaccinations. The Selected candidate must be adaptable to changing conditions in a fast-paced environment. No requested time off is permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment. Requested time off must be included at the time of submission and cannot be changed after the initial submission.
