Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in ICU nursing License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Epic charting experience required Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Intensive Care Unit. Candidates will provide care for adult patients with complex cardiovascular conditions. Responsibilities include monitoring acutely ill patients, managing critical care scenarios, and administering medications. Candidates will perform special procedures such as central line placement, arterial line placement, and blood product administration. The nurse will be responsible for interpreting dysrhythmias and managing multi-system organ failure. Experience in handling ventilated patients and administering continuous IV sedation is necessary. Strong cardiac skills are required. Candidates must be willing to float to other units as needed and work weekends. The role involves working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong critical thinking and clinical judgment skills. Flexibility in scheduling is essential to accommodate changing staffing needs. The work environment includes a Level 1 trauma center. The unit has a staff-to-patient ratio of 1:2 on all shifts.
