Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) in Lawton, Oklahoma. This role involves providing high-acuity critical care to a diverse patient population with complex cardiovascular conditions.

The CVICU operates with a supportive 1:2 patient-to-nurse ratio, allowing for focused and comprehensive patient care. You will be integral to a team managing critically ill patients, utilizing advanced monitoring and life support equipment in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct, specialized nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients in the CVICU.
• Monitor and interpret complex hemodynamic data, cardiac rhythms, and vital signs.
• Manage and operate advanced cardiac support equipment, including Impella, Edward Life Science CCO, Tablo, and Autocat II.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, specialists, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, identify changes in patient condition, and intervene appropriately.
• Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment plans, and recovery expectations.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting.
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts.
