Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse - Critical Care- Obtain and record initial assessment, establish priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs
- Re-assess patients systematically to identify progress and trends requiring intervention
- Develop and implement a measurable, individualized plan of care within established timeframes
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of facts and evaluation of patient outcomes
- Participate in patient/significant other health education and discharge planning
- Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs
- Perform various Point of Care testing procedures
- Utilize effective communication strategies for intended outcomes
- Delegate unit work assignments and coordinate team assignments effectively
Requirements of the Registered Nurse - Critical Care- Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
- Current BLS Certification from AHA required
- Current ACLS Certification from AHA required
- Current TNCC Certification required
- Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing
- Current knowledge and skills appropriate to age/type of patient population served
- Knowledgeable and sensitive to patients' rights in the delivery of care
