Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse - Critical Care- Obtain and record initial assessment, establishing priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs
- Re-assess patients systematically to identify progress and trends that require intervention
- Develop and implement a measurable individualized plan of care within the established time frame
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on the evaluation of patient outcomes, modifying care plans as needed
- Participate in patient/significant other health education and discharge planning
- Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs
- Evaluate the plan of care
- Perform various Point of Care testing procedures
- Utilize effective communication and delegate unit work assignments appropriately
- Coordinate team assignments and follow up on delegated tasks
- Participate in the orientation of new staff/students and collaborate with team members
- Maintain high levels of patient/customer satisfaction and support unit growth and development
- Comply with all safety and hospital policies and maintain positive attendance
Requirements of the Registered Nurse - Critical Care- Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing
- Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
- Current BLS Certification from AHA
- Current ACLS Certification from AHA
- Current TNCC Certification
- Current knowledge and skills appropriate to age/type of patient population served
- Clear and concise communication skills appropriate to the developmental age of the patient
