Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1.5 years in a large hospital; level 1 preferred, will accept level 2 experience. License: Must obtain required license before contract begins. Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment. - Must have experience with trachs. - Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips. - EPIC experience required. - Traveler must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. Description: This position requires competency in high-acuity ICU nursing. Nurses will be fitted for N95 prior to working unless PAPR is needed. Traveler will be first to float based on staffing needs. Assignments may include floating to other units. Must be comfortable floating without restrictions. This unit typically manages high-risk patients, including those with respiratory failure, sepsis, and trauma-related injuries. Bedside procedures include endoscopy, bronchoscopy, trach, and G-tube placement. Special equipment includes ICP monitoring, arterial lines, Flotrac monitoring, and other high-acuity tools. Patients include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily patient census averages around 36. This fast-paced environment requires quick decision-making and the ability to manage multiple patient needs simultaneously. Candidates should possess a strong skill set in critical care nursing. A commitment to infection prevention and safety protocols is essential. The unit operates actively with interdisciplinary support from various healthcare teams. Understanding and management of dysrhythmias are key components of care provided. Maintaining effective communication within the healthcare team is critical to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
