Description

Job Opportunity – Cardiac ICU Registered Nurse – South Carolina

Start Date: September 21, 2026

Location: Columbia, South Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, 2:1 patient ratio, weekend coverage required, standby on-call without call pay. Float to ICUs and Cardiac Telemetry as needed.

Highlights:

  • Strong cardiac ICU focus with advanced cardiac devices including LVAD, Impella, IABP, and temporary ventricular pacing
  • Cardiac and medical intensive care patients with hemodynamic monitoring, invasive lines, CRRT, and ventilator management
  • 19-bed unit with daily census of 16, includes some step-down overflow patients
  • Epic EMR system (1 year experience required)
  • 72-hour orientation period; pre-assignment modules reimbursable up to 16 hours
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU or strong CCU/Cardiopulmonary ICU experience
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
  • Demonstrated competency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with post-cardiac surgery care, pre/post cardiac catheterization, and sheath removal
  • 2:1 patient ratio experience required
  • 1 year minimum experience with Epic EMR
  • Proficiency with advanced cardiac devices and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Skills in arterial line management, central line care, continuous IV sedation, blood product administration, and vasoactive/cardiac drip titration
  • Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
  • Must reside 100+ miles from facility, or meet specific distance and rate adjustment criteria
