- Candidates must be comfortable with emergency team assignments
Description:
Please ensure that your traveler is aware of the following:
Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, the unit manager may assign you to an emergency team.
There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the event passes or be part of the relief team.
Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts vary.
By signing your travel contract, you accept the above and will report as assigned by your immediate unit manager if an emergency event occurs.
Candidates must be willing to work 2 of the 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
Although Halloween is not a paid holiday, some units may require traveler coverage.
Holiday assignments are based on departmental needs and fair staff rotation.
The average daily census for the unit is 44.
The patient ratio is 1:2 for day and night shifts, and every other weekend coverage is required.
Candidates are expected to have certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
Preferred certifications include TNCC.
Proficiency in Epic charting is preferred.
Experience in trauma level I and II is preferred.
Travel experience is required.
Skills required include accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, vent management, and care of ventilated patients, among others.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate proficiency in various critical care nursing skills and interventions.
The unit provides interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
The facility has 50 beds and serves a diverse patient population.
Resources who worked as permanent staff must be separated for one full year before returning.
NURSYS reports must be up to date within four weeks of submission.
References are not required for submission, but two manager or supervisor references will be required to obtain clearance to start the contract.
