Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required License: Must have valid nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred Description: May have low acuity ICU patients or high acuity telemetry patients. ICU experience is required. Shift consists of 3x12 hour shifts with on-call once every 6 weeks. 6 weekend shifts are required per 6 week period. Candidates should be available to start within the next 3-5 weeks. Patient ratios are typically 3:1. Daily census on the unit is approximately 20 patients. This unit has in-room continuous cardiac and vital sign monitoring. Patients may require cardiac IV infusions, including frequent titrations. Frequent neurological assessments may be necessary for patients receiving TNK administration. Additional patient care includes management of high oxygen requirements and temporary pacemakers. RNs will update charge nurses on patient conditions and independently consult with medical management regarding patient changes. Patient care is RN-driven with support from PCTs. The unit includes interdisciplinary support from various teams. Desired skills include managing arterial lines, central lines, and performing blood product administration. Knowledge of interpreting arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias is necessary. Experience with managing various medical procedures and devices is important for this role. Candidates should possess skills in monitoring and administering medications and treatments.
