Description:
Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
Reports to the Nurse Manager/Director.
Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs for self.
Attends education programs based on identified learning needs.
Uses patient education materials relevant to patient population, with assistance.
Assesses readiness to learn of the patient, family, and caregivers.
Evaluates developmental levels of patients and factors affecting their ability to learn.
Identifies expected patient outcomes.
Seeks guidance as needed in revising the plan of care.
Participates in discussions with members of the interdisciplinary team in evaluating patient care.
Communicates relevant information to promote continuity of care.
Demonstrates competence in the care of patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care appropriate to the population served.
Performs bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plans.
Utilizes nursing standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of care.
