Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Float Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in critical care. License: Registered Nurse license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Experience with arterial line management. - Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management. - Experience with care of ventilated patients. - Experience with central line care/management. - Experience with isolation precautions and PPE. - Experience in management of dysrhythmias. - Ability to start and maintain IVs. - Experience with suctioning (ETT, NT). - Ability to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips. - Must have ICU experience. Description: This position involves working as part of a float pool. Staff are expected to float throughout the facility, including different care areas such as Emergency Service, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Stepdown/PCU. Ratios can be up to 1:6 in Medical Surgical units. Staff are required to work every other weekend. There is no call requirement associated with this position. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling. No block schedule requests will be accommodated. If one major holiday falls during the assignment period, the staff member will be expected to work it. If two major holidays fall, they are expected to work both. If three major holidays fall, the staff member will be expected to work two of the holidays. Compliance is necessary to start on time. Failure to comply may result in a delay. Full compliance is required for initiation. This is a float pool position where nursing staff will be required to assist in multiple areas. Previous charge experience is preferred but not mandatory. Experience with charting systems, such as Epic, is required. Candidates will be expected to handle various patient diagnoses and care plans. This role supports interdisciplinary patient care and engages in collaborative practices to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
