Must-Have:
Experience with knowledge and recovery of post-cardiothoracic surgery fresh out of the operating room
Experience with IMPELLA, Balloon Pump, Arctic Sun, TABLO XT, CRRT, and high-acuity patients with multiple comorbidities
Previous experience with electronic health record software preferred
Description:
The competent nurse in a critical care setting practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation.
Provides routine and complex care with the ability to meet long-range goals and plans.
Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing.
Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.
Meets expectations of applicable competencies in nursing practice.
Consistent with established scope and standards, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Administers medications and treatments according to the appropriate protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers.
Identifies issues and resources to assist in patient care.
Experience in a critical care setting preferred, but new graduates will be considered.
Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is expected.
