Job Opportunity – Critical Care Registered Nurse – Georgia

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend required. Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2-3. Orientation provided with 12 hours of onboarding. Full-time contract assignment with holiday coverage requirements based on assignment length.
Highlights:
- Critical care unit with 24 beds and an average daily census of 19 patients
- Diverse case mix including ARDS, sepsis, stroke, STEMI, DKA, post-op complications, cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, liver failure, drug overdose, and ESRD on CRRT
- Epic EMR system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
- Adult to geriatric patient population with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Access to specialized equipment including cardiac monitoring, FloTrac, IABP, arctic sun, BIS, and train of four
- Maximum of 7 days requested time off (RTO) per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start date
- Georgia or Compact state RN license required at time of submission
- Demonstrated competency in care of ventilated patients, central line management, CVA/acute stroke management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, high flow nasal cannula, and suctioning
- Experience with CVVHD/CRRT, post-cardiac surgery care, and post-neurosurgery management preferred
- Ability to float within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Full compliance with onboarding requirements; all documents due Tuesday prior to start date
