The unit has a bed capacity of 25. Patient ratios are 2:1. Staff includes 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator and Registered Nurses on day shifts. Night shift staffing is similar with added coverage. Type of equipment used includes EV1000, Tablo, Cortrak, Codman, Level I Rapid Transfuser, and EMR Meditech. Typical procedures performed include insertion of arterial lines, central lines, dialysis catheters, and chest tubes. Massive transfusions and emergency procedures may be required. Candidates are expected to handle high-stress situations well and stay calm under pressure. Experience with acute trauma and neuro patients is preferred. This position requires working every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital staff.
