Any call-offs or additional RTO could possibly result in a cancellation. No block scheduling is practiced. The unit runs similarly to an ICU. Strong drip experience is a must. This position accepts first-time travelers and locals. Target ratios for care are 1:3-4. The unit requires floating to a sister unit as needed. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. Patient diagnoses include respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, and post-operative cases. The patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Special procedures include managing one pressor drip per patient. Management of multiple titratable drips may warrant transfer to the ICU. Telemetry monitors with remote backup are available on the unit. Nurses must be able to recognize and treat dysrhythmias. There are no ventilators on the unit, only non-invasive airway management. Candidates must be willing to float within or near the facility as required. All RTO must be pre-approved and is limited to a maximum of 7 days. Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays, and no RTO can be requested during the first week of employment.
