Description:
Seeking a Registered Nurse for the ICU.
The facility has 361 licensed beds and a Level 2 Trauma Designation.
It serves as a teaching hospital with a Residency Program, and it is designated as a Chest Pain and Stroke Center.
The ICU consists of 26 beds, caring for patients with conditions such as drug overdose, psychosis, myocardial infarction, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and acute respiratory failure.
ICU RNs are expected to manage patients on life support and critical care equipment.
ICU staffing ratios are generally 1:2, but may increase to 1:3 depending on patient acuity.
Critical skills include monitoring arrhythmias, administering sedation, knowledge of titratable drips, and CVP monitoring.
Experience with caring for post-craniotomy patients and TPA administration is also necessary.
There is teamwork culture within the department.
RNs are encouraged to assist their colleagues and respond promptly to call lights.
Weekend rotation is required every other weekend, with holiday expectations of 70%.
Travelers may be asked to float to other nursing units as needed.
Telehealth support and virtual patients are part of the care model in this unit.
Personal protective equipment and safety protocols are strictly followed.
