Description:
Travel opportunity for an RN in the ICU.
This unit has 38 beds and functions as a Level II Trauma Center.
It is a general mixed ICU with a variety of patients, including medical, surgical, cardiac, and neurosurgery patients.
The unit cares for post-operative open-heart patients, as well as those on VV and VA ECMO, balloon pumps, Impella, and CRRT.
Staffing includes a charge nurse and 16-18 nurses on both day and night shifts.
Patient ratios are typically 2:1, but may be 1:1 depending on acuity.
Equipment includes Stryker beds, Avea ventilators, GE monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Maquet IABP, Vigilance II monitors, Impella, ECMO Maquet Cardiohelp, and Medtronic Vital Flow.
The EMR used is Meditech.
Candidates with Meditech experience and CVICU/CTICU experience will be given preference.
Typical procedures on this unit include bedside procedures such as bronchoscopies, GI scopes, chest tube insertions, and arterial and central line insertions.
Airway care and frequent drip titrations are also part of the job.
