Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required. License: Valid state nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. Must-Have: - 702 years of ICU experience required. - Must have certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. - Compact license or TX license in hand required. - Experience with Epic charting system preferred. Description: Looking for an experienced ICU registered nurse for a 13-week assignment. The nurse will work 3 12-hour night shifts per week. General ICU patient diagnosis includes cardiac issues, STEMI, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, vascular procedures, post-invasive spinal surgery, and DIEP flaps. The position requires working 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period, with shifts scheduled on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. Floating to supporting departments may be required if census is low. Daily patient ratios are 2 patients per nurse. The ICU cares for adults and geriatric patients, with a daily census of 1-5 patients. The unit consists of 6 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. Nurses will be responsible for various critical care procedures such as managing arterial lines, ventilator management, and caring for patients on continuous IV sedation. The ideal candidate should be skilled and experienced in accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, and interpreting arterial blood gases. This position accepts first-time travelers with the required experience. Medical or religious exemptions for the flu vaccine are permitted.
