Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care across all levels of acuity, including Med-Surg and ICU/Stepdown patients, within a 30-bed acute care unit
  • Perform and manage IV starts, central venous lines (CVL), arterial lines, Foley catheters, EKG monitoring, and wound care
  • Operate unit equipment including IV pumps, SCDs, Nova Stat glucometer, wound vac, Baxter feeding pump, and Pyxis medication dispensing system
  • Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR
  • Participate in a Team-Based Care model, collaborating daily with MDs, case management, pharmacists, and PT/OT to address patient care, treatments, and discharge planning
  • Float to TCU as needed and adhere to weekend rotation and holiday staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact state eligibility)
  • BLS certification required prior to start
  • ACLS certification required prior to end of orientation
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing clinical environment caring for multiple acuity levels
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • ICU or Stepdown experience strongly preferred; candidates with these skills will be considered first
  • At least 1 year of Med-Surg experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Cerner EMR
