Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Must-Have: Critical thinking skills Self-motivated Description: The ICU unit has 16 beds and typically maintains patient ratios of 2:1, occasionally 3:1. Unit staffing includes medical technicians, with additional tech support based on patient census. Equipment utilized on the unit includes Impella, GE monitors, temporary pacemakers, EKOS, IABP, Arctic Sun, and hemodynamic monitoring systems. The documentation system used is Meditech. The unit has a floating policy where staff may float in rotation with core staffing. We value patient experience and seek candidates who are committed to high-quality care. Critical procedures performed on the unit include central line insertions and dialysis catheter insertions. All candidates should hold certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH. The required uniform consists of scrubs in any color, avoiding denim, capris, and camo. Incentives for joining this unit include flexibility in scheduling and a strong teamwork environment. The team consists of a mix of experienced staff from both day and night shifts. Additionally, the unit has been recognized for contributions to patient care, including making blankets for hospice patients. A notable achievement includes the implementation of the Daisy Award by Critical Care RNs.
