Patient ratios are primarily 2:1, with some instances of 1:1 and 3:1. The unit is staffed with 1 Nurse Tech. Equipment includes Arctic Sun and Continuous EEG. Documentation is performed using Meditech. Scheduling requires 36 hours per week, with every other weekend included. There is a floating policy to ICU overflow units. Essential procedures performed on this unit include central line placements, arterial line placements, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and intubation. The facility is recognized for high quality and staff engagement. Recent advancements include the newest GE ICU monitors and an expanding service line and acuity. There is a newly approved expansion that will double the ICU's capacity.
