Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years preferred License: State or Compact license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Charting System Experience: Epic - Patient ratio experience: 2-3 - Travel experience Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Shifts are 3x12 hour days. Two years of experience is preferred, particularly in travel nursing. Strong proficiency with the Epic charting system is required. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 2:1. Candidates should have experience in trauma care, community hospitals, and LTAC settings. Proper certifications such as ACLS and BLS are necessary to apply. Essential skills include managing ventilated patients, administering blood products, and performing phlebotomy. Knowledge of arterial line management, central line care, and renal failure management is crucial. Experience with procedures such as chest tube insertion/removal and ECMO is preferred. The unit provides interdisciplinary support for physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. A focus on infection prevention and patient safety is mandatory. All applicants must meet compliance and onboarding requirements upon acceptance. Candidates should be prepared to float based on scheduling needs.
