The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 2:1. Candidates should have experience in trauma care, community hospitals, and LTAC settings. Proper certifications such as ACLS and BLS are necessary to apply. Essential skills include managing ventilated patients, administering blood products, and performing phlebotomy. Knowledge of arterial line management, central line care, and renal failure management is crucial. Experience with procedures such as chest tube insertion/removal and ECMO is preferred.
