Specific procedures performed include central line insertions, arterial line insertions, thoracotomies, bedside tracheostomies, and chest tube insertions. Supervisors are available on every shift. Personal appearance should meet the dress code requirements. Scrub color for RNs is royal blue. Nail policy requires clean hands with no artificial nails. Hair must be neat and pulled back if shoulder length or longer. Body art should be covered whenever possible. Visible piercings other than earrings are prohibited. Patients expect a high standard of care and professionalism.
