The unit has a total of 10 beds and is staffed with 4 nurses. Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse and additional RNs according to patient census. No techs are present on the unit. Night shift staffing follows the same pattern, with 1 charge and RNs based on patient census. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 2:1. The unit is equipped with ventilators, CRRT, A-lines, Bipap machines, Flow-track, and IV pumps. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Candidates should have experience with CRRT and be familiar with transplant care (kidney, pancreas, liver). Typical procedures include total care for critically ill patients, turning, titrating drips, performing dressing changes, and trach care. The ideal candidate should be compassionate, work well with others, and establish good rapport with physicians. Floating is expected to all ICUs, PCU, and BMT. The dress code is blue scrubs. Weekend rotations are required.
