TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Infusion for a travel nursing job in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

UNIT:  PRECEPTOR INFUSION RN
 

Active OK RN License or compact

Certs Required: BLS, ONS biotherapy/chemotherapy.

Experience Required: 2 years, minimum 1 travel assignment preferred
*Level I Trauma experience highly preferred* Infusion experience, Outpatient infusion experience required , The Infusion Nurses are providing a service for the doctor that put the order in place.   Infusion RN to give treatment and then discharge – clinic actually manages the patient’s care, The care clinics are close, so if any escalation of care is needed, charge nurses will notify, Knowing the drugs and side effects of all medications administering required.

Charting Experience Required: EPIC/Beacon required, at least 6 months recent experience; comfortable with all types of code narrators.


General Information:  
12 treating RN's per day
110-120 patients that have been treated per day (not ALL infusions, these patients receive some sort of treatment=>port draw, access, pump d/c, central line changes, etc)

Unit Information (Bed size, Case type, Patient ratio): 43 treatment spaces.  1:2-3; cap of patients based on acuity tool. Charge nurses are reviewing labs and orders first. Then, they sign off the patient for approval of treatment before being marked “ready to treat.” . Expectation is typically to see one patient per hour that you are working. CTA’s to help get rooms ready, 3-4 LPN’s per shift for lab draws, port access, dressing changes, etc. Chemo coordinator and treatment room coordinator communicate with the physicians so the treating nurses can continue to keep moving

Patient Population:  All types of cancer patients – no one specific specialty

On Call/Call Back Requirements: None

Weekend rotation: None

Holiday Expectations: As needed per department
