Cancer Center Infusion Registered Nurse (RN)

The Cancer Center RN provides patient-centered care within an infusion setting. This role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including chemotherapy administration, patient education, care planning, symptom management, and the coordination of outpatient services.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy in accordance with established protocols.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and symptom management strategies.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to patients with complex needs.
• Develop and execute individualized care plans to meet the unique requirements of each patient.
• Ensure that all nursing practices comply with ANA and ONS standards of care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program required; BSN preferred.
• One (1) to two (2) years of experience in ambulatory oncology required.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.
• ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification required.
• Oncology Nurse Certification (OCN) required within two years of hire or after 2,000 hours of oncology nursing practice.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent interpersonal abilities required.
• Ability to function both independently and as part of a team required.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality required.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals required.

This position reports to the Clinical Nursing Manager and operates within the established policies and procedures of the organization.
