Outpatient Infusion Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Outpatient Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in providing exceptional patient care in an outpatient infusion unit. This position requires expertise in administering chemotherapy and managing various adult and geriatric patient needs.

Responsibilities

  • Administer intravenous (IV) chemotherapy and other infusions to adult and geriatric patients.
  • Monitor patients during infusions for any adverse reactions or complications.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient management and treatment protocols in the electronic medical record (EPIC).
  • Utilize medical technology and equipment including Alaris pumps, elastomeric pumps, and glucometers.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Perform blood product administration and follow safety protocols.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple patient cases efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Chemo Certification is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in outpatient infusion.
  • Experience in treating common diagnoses such as oncology, neuro, anemia, GI issues, etc.

Work Schedule

The position offers a schedule of 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts during the day.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to float between multiple units as required.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare team members.
