This is a 10 week contract. Candidates must start by the designated date. No holiday time off is included. No more than 5 days of requested time off during the contract period. RN will work Monday through Friday from 08:00 to 16:30. Occasional weekend hours of 4 hours may be scheduled. A 4x9 schedule is also an option from 07:45 to 17:15. BLS certification is required. The role involves caring for pediatric patients with oncologic diagnoses, bleeding disorders, and a variety of non-oncologic diagnoses requiring infusion therapy. A minimum of 3 years of experience in the pediatric infusion specialty is required. Candidates should possess skills in administering blood products, chemotherapy, and managing ports. The Registered Nurse will need to demonstrate competency in handling various infusion therapies and monitoring chemotherapy. Daily census in the unit is approximately 12 patients. The nurse will work alongside interdisciplinary support teams, including social services and pharmacy. This is an outpatient infusion role with a focus on pediatric healthcare. Candidates must be comfortable supporting and educating patients and families in a clinical setting. Familiarity with chemotherapy administration and management of side effects is essential. Candidates should possess experience with central line care and blood draws. This position will require involvement in coordinating care and collaborating with the pediatric oncology team. Skills in recognizing and communicating abnormal lab values are necessary. Understanding of managing acute conditions such as anaphylaxis and tumor lysis syndrome is expected.
