Job Summary:
Infusion Nurse specializing in oncology infusion services in a healthcare setting. This role involves administering chemotherapy, electrolytes, and blood products to adult carcinology patients. The position requires managing patients within a dedicated infusion center connected to an oncology urgent care, ensuring safe delivery of treatment and patient comfort.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 4 days per week, 10 hours per shift, starting at 0700 and ending at 1730, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active MD or Compact RN license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, Chemo (Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation/Open Nursing Certification Corporation) certification, minimum 2 years of oncology/infusion experience, community hospital experience required, charting experience with EPIC preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with chemotherapy administration, port management, and advanced oncology procedures. Certification in NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) is preferred.
- Responsibilities: Administer chemotherapy, electrolytes, and blood products; monitor patient reactions; manage infusion pumps; coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams; ensure patient safety and education.
- Unit Details: Focused on cancer diagnosis requiring infusion therapy, connected to an oncology urgent care. Responsibilities include infusion management, patient assessment, and safety procedures.
- Certifications: BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), NIHSS (preferred), CPI certification required.
- Additional Information: Floating within specialty and acuity may be required; must be comfortable working within EPIC charting system; on-call not required; provides care to adult and geriatric populations; scheduled to begin on 10/12/2026 and conclude on 01/11/2027.
