Certifications: BLS and ACLS certification required, ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card required. Must-Have: - Active RN license. - Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred). - BLS certification required or to be obtained within 1 month of hire. - ACLS required or to be obtained within 1 year of hire. - Current ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card or to be obtained within 6 months of hire. Description: The Infusion Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients receiving intravenous and injectable therapies. This includes chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic agents, blood products, and other medications. The nurse will monitor patients for reactions and ensure safe medication administration. Education and support will be provided throughout the treatment process. Essential Job Duties: Assess patient condition before, during, and after treatments. Review medical history, laboratory results, and treatment orders. Monitor vital signs and patient response during treatment. Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other IV and injectable medications. Access and manage vascular devices including ports, PICC lines, and central lines. Follow strict protocols for safe handling of hazardous drugs. Ensure accurate dosage calculations and infusion rates. Monitor patients for adverse reactions or complications such as allergic reactions or extravasation. Provide emergency intervention when needed. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, potential side effects, and symptom management. Provide guidance on infection prevention and self-care during treatment. Support patients emotionally throughout the therapy process. Collaborate with providers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals. Communicate patient concerns or changes in condition to providers. Document treatment administration, patient responses, and side effects in electronic medical records. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and clinic policies. Perform other duties as requested. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: IV therapy and vascular access management.
