Job Summary:
Infection Control Specialist position in a healthcare setting. This role involves surveillance, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of hospital-acquired infections, as well as developing and implementing infection prevention strategies. The specialist will also educate hospital staff on infection control practices and ensure compliance with national standards and regulatory initiatives.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days, 8 hours shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required; California Registered Nurse (RN) license preferred; minimum of three (3) years experience in Infection Control / Prevention / Epidemiology, preferably in an acute care hospital. Knowledge of patient care practices, infectious diseases, epidemiology, employee health, sterilization/disinfection/sanitation processes, and experience with implementation of regulatory and The Joint Commission initiatives.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in infection prevention education, outbreak investigation, environmental control assessment, epidemiologic studies, quality/performance improvement, and regulatory compliance.
• Additional Information: The role involves developing informational materials, participating in continuing education, and contributing to hospital policies and procedures to prevent infections and promote patient and staff safety. Candidate must be prepared to participate in hospital infection prevention and control activities essential for maintaining compliance with national standards.
