ICU Float Pool RN – Job Summary
Location: Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA Position: RN – ICU Float Pool Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM Schedule: 4 × 12-hour shifts; 36 or 48 hours available Contract: 13 weeks
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience.
- First-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of ICU experience in a 400+ bed facility.
- Active California RN license required at submission; no pending or temporary licenses.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS. CCRN preferred/required per checklist.
- Mandatory Pulmonary Artery Line (PA Line) / Swan-Ganz experience.
- Swan-Ganz skills must be rated 3–4 on the additional checklist, with experience within the last 6 months.
- Two professional references from the past year, from a supervisor or higher; Charge RN references are not accepted.
- Epic charting experience required.
- Flu vaccine required; no exemptions.
- Must pass the EKG exam during orientation.
Clinical Skills
- PA Line/Swan-Ganz monitoring and hemodynamic monitoring
- Arterial and central line management
- Ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
- Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Continuous IV sedation and paralytics
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and 12-lead EKGs
- ABG interpretation
- CRRT, ICP monitoring, and EVD experience preferred
- Transplant experience preferred
Floating Requirements
- ICU units, including cardiac, neuro, respiratory, and transplant ICUs
- Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, PCU/Stepdown, and overflow units
- Overflow PACU when needed
- Strong cardiac and neuro experience preferred; trauma experience is a plus.
