Shift: Nights and every other weekend (EOW)

Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week

Unit Overview

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a Level III Trauma Center with a focus on providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients. This 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU specializes in treating a diverse range of adult patients with complex diagnoses, including:

Substance Abuse and Overdose
Severe Psychiatric Conditions
Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
Sepsis
Gastrointestinal Bleed
Respiratory Failure
Cardiac Arrest
Renal Failure
Cardiogenic Shock

Attending physicians and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours a day, ensuring continuous support and supervision for patient care.

Job Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients.
Monitor patient vital signs and interpret telemetry strips accurately.
Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
Float between medical-surgical units as needed, managing a patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity; or 1:4 to 1:5 when floated.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of continuous experience in an adult ICU, preferably in a MICU.
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts.
Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.

Additional Information

Telemetry competency is required. All day positions rotate shifts as needed, while night shifts remain consistent. Free on-site parking is available for staff.
