ICU Float Pool — La Mesa, CA
 

Position Summary: Seeking an experienced ICU RN for a float pool position with multiple openings (5 positions). This is a Winter Needs role, so it's a good fit for a nurse who is comfortable floating across units and facilities. The RN provides safe, therapeutic and individualized care to an assigned group of patients using the nursing process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized, age- and culturally appropriate care using assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Develop and carry out plans of care in partnership with the patient, family and healthcare team
• Evaluate patient and family progress toward goals and adjust interventions as needed
• Identify and respond to patient and family educational needs
• Serve as a patient and family advocate, supporting participation in care decisions
• Collaborate with the team in complex, new or high-risk clinical situations
• Document care per department guidelines, policies and procedures
• Delegate care within scope of practice and coordinate with the broader care team
• Float to ICU units, one level of care lower, or another facility within the health system

Requirements:

• Active California RN license
• ACLS required
• CPR required
• NIHSS required
• 3 years of recent RN experience required
• 2 years of recent RN experience in the specialty required
• BSN or ADN required

Shift: 12hr Nights, 3x12 (36 hrs/week), Float Pool
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: 10/19/2026 (Winter Needs starts run 10/12 to 11/16)
