ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Mixed ICU
Facility: Monument Health
Shift: 12-hour days
Call: None
Weekends: Every other weekend preferred, but not guaranteed
Scrubs: Navy blue
Unit: 39-bed mixed ICU
Unit & Patient Population
- Mixed Medical, Surgical, Cardiac, and Trauma ICU
- Complex critical patients, including ARDS, MI, stroke, COVID, post-cardiac catheterization, postoperative patients, and major trauma
- Cardiac experience preferred, especially CABG/TAVR postoperative care
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1, 1:2, occasionally 1:3
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience, excluding travel experience preferred
- At least 1 previous travel assignment — first-time travelers not accepted
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC required
- Epic experience required
- Must be willing to obtain TNCC before arrival if not already certified
- Experience with ventilators, vasopressors, sedation, paralytics, hemodynamic lines, proning, and telemetry
- Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and teamwork skills
- Impella, IABP, and CRRT experience strongly preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must live at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facility
- No RTO during holidays or the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally period (first 3 weeks of August)
- Up to 7 days of RTO; contract extension may be required to complete the full 13-week assignment
- May float to adult units, including Med-Surg/Telemetry, if overstaffed
- Must be comfortable with 48-hour workweeks
- Clinical interview and manager approval required
- May be expected to precept students
