Intensive Care Unit Details

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a 6-bed, high-acuity unit that cares for critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring and life-sustaining therapies. As a Critical Access Hospital, the ICU plays a vital role in stabilizing complex patients while maintaining strong interdisciplinary collaboration and timely transfers when higher levels of specialty care are required.

Unit Overview:
- 6-bed ICU
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 2:1
- Very rarely flexes higher when accommodating medical-surgical overflow patients 
- Patient population tends to be higher acuity, with a significant number of ventilated patients Patient Population & Scope
- Cares for patients of all ages, including pediatrics o Comfort with pediatric patients is required
- The ICU typically does not house neuro patients or interventional cardiology patients
- These cases are stabilized and transferred out
- High-acuity medical and respiratory critical care is common

Requirements: 
Minimum 2 years experience as a ICU RN

Confident in Ventilated Patients, High-Acuity Critical care scenarios and Vasoactive Drips.

Active OR RN license Preferred or Pending OR license
-The facility will consider candidates who have already started the licensing process at the time of submittal, though those with a license in hand will be prioritized. (We will also reimburse the Oregon license fee once the license posts.)
